Its that time of the year again and no we are not talking about the holidays, we are talking about that one "Romantic day" off from work, regular routine and the usual grind. Yes we are talking about Valentine's day !!!

Holidays are here and so are mom's busy schedule of shopping, sending holiday cards, inviting family and more than anything prepare for the delicious thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving day can get so stressful sometimes, with so much food to cook you are also under the pressure of making / serving them all the perfect way. For those ladies who are not so much into intense cooking (like myself) :) here are some cooking ideas that can still feel holiday like but are extremely simple to make them.

Some of my favs which are also vegetarian are:

Vegetarian Pot pie

Sweet Potato pie ** (Desert)

Carrot & Parsnips (sweet glazed)

Stuffed Brie ** (Desert)

Today I will share with you all the most simple of these - Glazed Carrot & Parsnip

Directions:

Doesnt it look yum?? Trust me, it is really yummy. The meat lovers can use this as a great side specially with fish. 

P.S. IF YOU FEEL THE VEGETABLES NEED MORE COOKING JUST THROW THEM IN THE OVEN PREHEATED AT 350 FOR ABOUT 15 MINS.

Picures speak a thousand words.

- This is so true for online shopping businesses. You can make & break a sale by a picture. Uploading clear, bright, real pictures of the products goes a long way in online shopping sites. Online business owner, please spend enough time & energy to create the best product photos.

Here are a few tips:

- Try and take pictures with innovate background instead of the traditional whites.

- I wait for sunlight and take in natural light, I dont use any ez cube or special lightings, & hey you know what. it is cheap and works great

- Jewelry pictures needs to be clear, so use the macro option of your camera to take close ups of the jewelry. (show emphasis on beads, materials, clasps used etc.)

And hey thats it. These 3 tips are just enought to produce great pictures.

Add a Vintage touch by using the Sephia mode of PhotoShop / PhotoShop Elements.

I used Elements and this is what I did to create a retro mode on the below head band picture. It is QUICk & EASY trick.

1. Open the image in Photoshop Elements

2. Go to Image-> Adjust Color -> Color Variations

3. Adjust the Color Intensity Slider one level down

4. Choose Increase Red, Decrease Blue.

5. Optionally you can play with the options to get the hue you want,

Thats it. Save the pic and you have a retro looking version of your product !!!!

Though started only to sell hand crafted jewelry, we also realized that today's fashion accessory trends is not just all about necklaces, earrings, bracelets. Headbands, bobby pins, comb also speak a statement and cannot be ignored. Be it for a wedding or a summer bbq get together hair accessories can just add that additional spice to fashion. So presenting below are a few of our collection.

Manomay has started a new featured collection called "Inspired BY Collection" where items that are created and designed based on an inspiration will be featured. The inspiration can be anything from a simple shades of sea to a beautiful place on earth like the Maroon Bells. In short, - There is a story in every Item.

Every artistic creation is always a result of a story that comes from the creator, Jewelry designing is also one such art. And the designer at Manomay (myself ocourse) :)) has decided to feature one item per story and share them with the readers.

Today's Story is: Maroon Bells @ Colorado.

I decided to take a vacation to visit Aspen, CO during last fall and Maroon Bells was a definite stop. Up till then I had only heard of the spectacular beauty of the place but when I was right there standing in front of the breath taking view of the Bell with yellow aspen leaves and the sparking lake water I was simply in awe. It is the most beautiful place on earth. The colors around me, so vibrant so full of energy inspired me to create this lovely necklace. 

The necklace - I tried to bring in the greens from the tall trees, the amber from the fall colors and the golden hues from the sunset all in this one jewelry.

Every one loves facebook right? We all are hooked on to that thing for atleast 15 mins every day. Some of us even browse it during our morning cup of coffe? 

I personally think the better things of facebook are also the apps they have. Some of the apps are free and useful, some awesome ones are available for a small price and what do you know we can also create a custom app. Isn't that just cool?

For all you fashion freaks like me, I started this new post called "Did you Know" about all the world famous fashion designer labels. I personally always was and still am very interested to know how all these big designers made it to where they are now, what the history behind their success is and what makes them so special that people go crazy to wear/flaunt them. I love to read more and more about them and truly as you do so you realize that building a magnum takes so much hard work, perseverance, attitude and creativity.

Happy Monday to all (Yea I know - Who likes Mondays??) :)

But I was very thrilled to write about the giveaway I hosted at the Unique LA Spring Show 2011 that took place earlier this month at the Fashion district in LA downtown. If you have not heard of Unique LA then you must read about them here. They are the most awesome independent fashion show organizers and give a great opportunity for local designers to show case their work and I had the lucky chance to do so. 

The giveaway is this gorgeous necklace - a vintage style altered art locket pendant with bright red czech beads.  A lot of lovely ladies entered for this and the winner is going to be announced tomorrow !!! So good luck to the participants and stay tuned for the final announcement.

The first item to have got sold is this beautiful Asian fan pendant necklace in gold tone and this bad boy is on its way to the new owner.

I have to add that this particular necklace is my personal favorite too, it is so unique in design and also a great accessory for casual wear. 

Well, hoping to see many more sales to happen in future and hope to please all the lovely "jewelry lovers" ladies with lots of unique designs and selections.

Well here is a brief info: Manomay is an online jewelry store that sells handmade jewelry and accessories at a very affordable price. Free customization is offered on all its products and customer satisfaction is the # 1 priority. 

Manomay started in 2010 as a hobby and soon grew up to be a shop selling unique handcrafted jewelry. Styles include beaded, vintage, flower, bridal & oh many more.
